-Threads dedicated to helping the original poster elucidate his/her/hir sexual orientation should be posted only in the Welcome Wagon forum.
-Controversy is to be expected, as is irritation and anger in response to controversy. However, if the moderators feel that a controversial discussion is getting out of hand, they can and will interfere.
-Personally insulting other users is unacceptable.
-Blanket statements about potential causes of asexuality and/or links between asexuality and other conditions are strongly discouraged. Blanket statements about the validity of a group’s asexuality based on a characteristic of that group—i.e., repulsion, mental illness, Asperger’s—are not allowed.
-Because many users find sexually explicit material offensive we request that posts which contain sexually explicit material contain a warning in the subject line or, preferably, that the explicit material be treated as a “spoiler.” Please refrain from using sexually explicit subject lines.
-Posting personal information about another user without their express permission is a serious offense. Such posts are subject to deletion at the request of the exposed party. This extends to posting PMs and IM conversations.
-Making judgments about the validity of another user’s sexual or gender orientation is not allowed. Making judgments about the validity of another user’s identity is not allowed, whether questioning a user’s belonging in a recognized group or questioning whether a given personal or political identity is valid at all.
-The only exception to the above rule is when a person is specifically seeking opinions on how to identify, in which case suggestions and information based on what that poster said should be allowed.
-No derogatory remarks are to be made on the basis of categories including but most definitely not limited to race, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, romantic orientation, age, disability (physical, psychiatric and developmental), weight or physical appearance.
-Discussions about who belongs in the community versus who is giving asexuals a “bad name” etc. are not allowed.
-Claims of so-called “antisexuality” often stifle discussion and are exaggerations; accusations that a user is antisexual should be made with utmost caution, and the makers of accusations that are unfounded or otherwise meant to be harmful will be penalized.
-Egregious posts obviously made by trolls will be removed from the site. Unnecessarily hurtful or angry posts may be removed from the site, but have the potential to be reposted in the context of critical analysis and/or snarking.
-"Concern trolling" meant to divide and conquer and to make the asexual community bend over backwards to the most touchy of sexuals in our own territory will not be allowed.
