I bought a computer yesterday. It should be delivered on December 31st.
The computer was custom built for me by an artisan in Ohio who spends retirement by playing with computer parts as a hobby. Although the components are circa 2006, they have never before been used, so in that sense the computer is new. If anyone is interested in the specs, I can post them, but basically it's an Athlon dual core 2.8 with 2 gig dual channel 800 mhz RAM and a 250-gig Western Digital SATA HD.
Total sale price was $232. Shipping cost a few bucks extra.
I'm fairly excited about getting a significant upgrade over my ThinkCentre, which is only a P4 2.8.
